In a world still grappling with inequality, StratHR Solutions is taking bold action to rewrite the narrative for women in the workforce. Through its Women-Owned Career Fair initiative, StratHR isn’t just offering jobs — it’s offering hope, dignity, and a long-overdue seat at the table.
During a recent podcast interview, our Executive Director shared the raw truth behind the motivation for this initiative. “Women,” she said, “are still the most affected group when it comes to employment, especially in immigrant communities. They sacrifice their ambitions, dreams, and careers for the good of their families — often with little support in return.”
This career fair was built from that pain — and that passion.
Why This Matters
When women arrive in Canada, they are often faced with a sobering reality: their degrees aren’t recognized, their work experience is overlooked, and systemic barriers keep them from progressing. Instead of being welcomed into leadership roles or even standard employment, many women are left with few options.
StratHR’s Women-Owned Career Fair exists to change that. With 15+ committed employers, including municipal partners and public institutions, this isn’t just another job event. It’s a challenge to the status quo.
It asks:
How many women are in leadership roles at your company?
Are you walking the talk on equity and inclusion?
Are your hiring practices truly fair?
And most importantly: Are you ready to show up?
What Makes This Fair Different
This isn’t your typical career fair. StratHR has designed a space where women — particularly those who are racialized, immigrant, or marginalized — are centered, heard, and empowered.
Here’s what sets it apart:
Onsite childcare, so moms can focus on their future.
Pre-scheduled interview waves, offering flexibility and dignity.
French and bilingual employer outreach, promoting inclusion across language lines.
Free employer participation, removing barriers to entry for inclusive hiring.
It’s about meeting women where they are — and giving them what they’ve long been denied: a real chance.
From Manitoba to the Nation
While this is the first of its kind in Manitoba, it won’t be the last. StratHR is committed to expanding this model across all 10 provinces and territories in Canada. Why? Because one province’s progress isn’t enough — this is a national issue that demands national action.
As our director said during the interview, “When women rise, the whole community rises with them.”
What You Can Do
If you’re a woman looking for meaningful work — show up. You belong here.
If you’re an employer — walk the talk. Be part of the solution.
If you’re part of the community — support, share, uplift.
Together, we’re not just changing careers.
We’re changing lives.
